BEE Incorporations Shanghai Office has just received the highly coveted WELL Performance Rating certification from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). This certification is a testament to BEE Incorporations’ unwavering commitment to enhancing people’s health and well-being through the buildings where they live, work, and play.
The WELL Performance Rating is a subset of features from the WELL Building Standard™ that focuses on building performance, monitoring, and occupant experience insights. The rating is a roadmap for leveraging building performance and occupant experience data to shift business decisions and organizational culture. BEE Incorporations Shanghai Officeis one of the first projects in Asia to receive the WELL Performance Rating. It showcases BEE’s success in ensuring a healthy, productive, and safe environment for its employees and clients.
The WELL Performance Rating contains over 30 evidence-based strategies. To earn the rating, projects must achieve at least 21 features. BEE Incorporations Shanghai Office achieved 22 features across seven categories: air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort, and mind. The rigorous evaluation process included documentation review, on-site performance testing, and post-occupancy evaluation.

BEE Incorporations completely redesigned an existing space to implement features that support peoples’ emotional and physical well-being. The office features biophilic elements such as a green wall housing hundreds of plants. It helps to reduce carbon footprint and regulate temperature, an abundance of natural light to increase mood and productivity. Besides, the office is full of nature-based use of shapes, textures, and materials to optimize health.
The office also has curated spaces for nourishment and mind. Wellness room designed for quiet time, reflection, and recuperation that doubles as a fully equipped nursing room for mothers. Food and beverage space offering fresh fruit and purified water. Additionally, the office boasts adjustable standing desks to reduce stress and the risk of heart disease while burning calories and improving posture. Free desk areas granting freedom for team members to move around.
