Founder and President, Alessandro Bisagni, LEED Fellow, WELL Faculty, CEnv and pioneer in sustainable architecture, recently shared his thoughts regarding the Built Environment in an interview with Italian journalist, Salvatore Giannella.

BEE has been helping buildings globally improve their performance and extend their life and, by extension, this positively impacts people and planet. In this interview, he discusses two recent areas in which BEE has become active. One is through our proprietary software called Bee Sense that measures building performance parameters such as energy and water consumption, waste production, noise, quality water and air, and the transmissibility of viruses. The second is in measuring the embedded carbon in client buildings. As buildings contribute to over 40% of global greenhouse gas, it is critical that we (investors, engineers, business owners, architects, builders, landlords, etc.) not only understand their role in reducing the sector’s carbon footprint but take the initiative to measure and manage energy use.

According to Alessandro, Europe is under pressure to create a sustainable built environment, and BEE is eager to be part of the journey for change.
