Feature Story: Starbucks Reserve Roastery, Shanghai

The Shanghai Starbucks Reserve Roastery, the world’s largest Starbucks and first Reserve Roastery outside of the U.S., opened in December 2017 with the goal of achieving the highest level of green building certification – LEED Platinum. Two years after its grand opening, on December 5th, 2019, the Shanghai Starbucks Reserve Roastery was officially awarded the honor of LEED Platinum certification, a designation from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) that only 1% of LEED certified buildings achieve. The Shanghai Starbucks Reserve Roastery is also the first certified LEED Platinum building in Mainland China within the food and beverage industry. BEE Incorporations has been guiding Starbucks through an integrative process to help the group achieve LEED in its stores.
